Strategic Sports Portugal at the 2026 Feira das Colheitas
Tradition brings us together, and recently Arouca, Portugal, held its annual Feira das Colheitas, the Harvest Fair. Our Strategic Sports Portugal Factory team was there with a stand, alongside the local businesses that help the region grow.
It Started with People. And Food.
The first Feira das Colheitas took place during World War II as Portugal faced food shortages and sky-high black market prices.
The Farmers' Guild (Grémio da Lavoura) started the fair with the support of the Arouca Municipal Council. The idea was simple: help local farmers grow more by rewarding their best work and sharing better techniques. The first competitions awarded the best crop field, fruit, wine cellar, and flax, along with the traditional Arouca cattle breed.
And it worked. Arouca went from a shortage of corn to a surplus. The fair refreshed folk traditions, inspiring new folk dance groups and efforts to recover traditional songs. It was the first fair of its kind in Portugal.
Today, the Feira das Colheitas is Arouca's biggest event of the year. Each September, many thousands of visitors fill the town's historic center for parades, folk dancing, local food, and livestock competitions.

At the Strategic Sports stand, visitors saw helmets from our range and learned how Strategic Sports Portugal has grown since 2013, from an assembler into a factory producing key components under one roof. We also came to meet future colleagues. Anyone interested in an internship or a job could scan a QR code and send their CV straight to our team.
