Strategic Sports Honored to Join Decathlon’s 30-Year Celebration in Shenzhen

This past week, Strategic Sports was proud to be among a very select group invited to attend a major milestone for one of our most valued partners—Decathlon Sports’ 30th anniversary in Shenzhen.

Held at Decathlon’s regional headquarters, the event was more than a celebration of years gone by—it was a powerful reflection on partnership, innovation, and shared purpose. Decathlon’s CEO, Chairman, global board members, and the entire international production leadership team flew in to mark the occasion. And among Decathlon’s more than 300 suppliers worldwide, only eight production partners were invited. We were one of them.

“To be included in such a limited group is not just an honor—it’s a signal of trust earned over the many years of collaboration and partnership between our groups,” Strategic Sports Managing Director Norman Cheng said.

Decathlon highlighted Strategic Sports as a global example of innovative, responsible manufacturing. Over the years, our partnership has grown beyond production to a shared vision: delivering high-quality, accessible protective gear while continuously raising the bar on sustainability and design excellence.

During the visit, Decathlon’s global team also took the time to tour our factory, reinforcing the open dialogue and collaboration that have always defined our relationship. As always, we were proud to show them how we’re investing in future-ready manufacturing—through clean energy adoption, circular design initiatives, and material science innovation.

As Sherry Tai, Sales Director at Strategic Sports, put it: “This wasn’t just a celebration—it was a reminder that trust is earned, not given, over many years of work and alignment of our teams and goals. We’re proud to grow and evolve with Decathlon.”

Of course, the occasion called for a little flair. As Norman joked:

”It was worth it—I even dyed my hair Decathlon blue for the celebration!”

Strategic Sports is deeply grateful to Decathlon for their trust, partnership, and recognition. Here’s to 30 years in Shenzhen—and many more years of building the future of sport together.
